Proof that sportsmanship is not dead. Watch this clip of true character shown by Spanish runner Ivan Fernandez Anaya.
“He was the rightful winner,” Fernandez Anaya said. “He created a gap that I couldn’t have closed if he hadn’t made a mistake. As soon as I saw he was stopping, I knew I wasn’t going to pass him.”
Inspiring!!

Not sure…..knowing that I couldn’t have beat him had he known the finish line, writing it and seeing the words, YES, for had I finished before him, deep in side I wouldn’t have been satisfied with a fluke !!! I would compare it to beating my son at something, knowing that I could win at anytime; finding how much he was hurting having lost when I, an adult would suffer no lost for allowing him that glory of beating his Dad….
I believe that God put’s people like Ivan in our lives to remind us that his will is that we love others as our selves, he is a shining example of how we should live our lives every day. I for one would be proud to call him brother.
absolutely not !!!! It’s a contest , part of the contest is to know where the finish line is. Can you imagine a championship football game, say the super bowl and the time is running out, one play left and your behind by one point and the defensive back slips on the coverage and leaves the receiver wide open but Tom Brady would not throw the pass because the defender slipped. It’s competition, you have to know the rules and play through.
He most certainly did the right thing. What a thoughtful fellow, not everyone would be so thoughtful, which is sad to say, I think
lots think it but are not strong enough to stand up to the world and what the media might do with it
