The company “Dove” (think skin care products) did something rather unique. They asked some people to describe their own facial and and hair features. Next they asked complete strangers to describe the looks of those same people as well.
Later the “described” individuals got to see the differences in the beauty sketches (drawn by a forensic artist) of each of the interpretations and WOW was it ever eye opening! It was also very humbling and deeply moving for the described persons. The remarkable differences help us realize that we all need to be kinder to (of all people) ourselves*
